tempted to buy a pinback button machine and just… make completely nonsense buttons. make mysterious and ominous buttons for secret societies that don’t exist. make buttons with strange alien script. ones with uncanny and gently disturbing messages. political candidates who have never lived. product logos that have never been designed. “party like it’s 1999 BC!” odd symbols that you can’t help but stare at. “just visiting.” ones from the future. “i survived the heat death of the universe, and all i got was this lousy button.” ones that barely survived the shift between worlds. “come and see.”
