for those currently on the fence about jasper redemption, consider:

• she IS coming back 
• she was born in the middle of war 
• she’s from earth (and ”it’s hard not to have some feeling for where you came from”)
  
• thinks fighting the CGs is her entire purpose
  
• she thinks whatever she has to do to accomplish that is justified (this post of mine was liked by a crewniverse writer!)
  
• possibly the only survivor of the beta kindergarten 
• very possibly saw her “defective” siblings die and adopted the worldview that she can’t care as they’re fated to die (”lose”) anyway
• “what happened to you?” - doesn’t know what homeworld did to her quartz siblings at the end of the war
  
• hating rose makes sense when you consider the whole “child soldier forced to fight the crystal gems from birth” thing
  
• lost her diamond, hasn’t coped with this in 5,000 years
• steven wants to help her
• jasper has been called “stone butch” by crewniverse, which “you don’t see a lot of on TV”, and they do care about representation
  
• her VA is a really sweet and talented black woman
• who wants her to become a crystal gem!!
• she’s more complex than just “good” or “bad”
• lots. of. vegeta. parallels. 
  
• including this jaspearl one for the shipping crowd
  
• very much coded as mentally ill & deteriorating right now
  
• someone a lot of people relate to in various ways, be it for body type, personality, trauma, victimhood, past, ect. people love her and many see themselves in her.
• she would add much-needed warmth to the crystal gems’ color scheme (color theory is a thing, and this show loves it)
  
• as well as body diversity
  
• look at this poster
• heck even if she doesn’t become a crystal gem, she could still get redeemed by steven healing her & the audience learning her perspective in a meaningful way. him and the CGs could help her cope with her past and find closure for the war, without rose 
• I THINK she’s really cool
  

if none of this sways you, and you’re more of a “she’s the worst no matter her motivation, mental state and past” person, ok! these are just some of my personal reasons why i like her and believe in her.
