Arctic Monkeys’ ’AM’ is now officially certificated Platinum (1,000,000 copies) in the US.

After it already being the first RIAA certificated album by the band with the Gold status (500,000 copies) back in October 2014, it reached the Platinum target in late August 2017. The same week debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ received a Gold certification 11,5 years after release in the US.

Single ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ reached Gold and Platinum (also 1,000,000 for single record units) status in the US in one go in August 2014. Also, the official video for that song hit 500 million views on YouTube in September 2017 (combined views of 570 million). By comparison, their second most viewed video on YouTube (‘R U Mine?’) has 161 million views (combined views of 231 million) as of mid-September 2017.
