I didn’t know this myself until a few years ago but the fact is, snow has a temperature range. It snows so hard nowadays because it’s not getting too cold for snow like it used to.

^^^^ Yep. The biggest snows in DC when I was a kid always came from the south, when a warm moist stream from there clashed with a cold front over us.
