Managers really are evil aren’t they?

Love the paranoia inherit in interpreting any unmonitered conversations among your employees as potential threats.

If you were confused where the capitalists stand “knowing your rights” is a threatening buzz word to them.

I’m a union member. From a union family. My grandmother and mother both worked in and for the same Union. My first job as a teen was working as a truck packer for fedex. Non-union. The new hire orientation was a half hour of class time. 15 minutes on all of our duties and safety procedures and everything. Then a 15 minute video on why unions were bad. At 19 I knew a fair amount about unions having been to many picket lines with my grandmother and mother. I took notes on ‘the evils the union’ when the instructor came back he asked us if we had any questions. I commenced to asking him about 10 minutes worth of questions picking about the ‘evils’ the union represent. Before I was even allowed on the floor for my first shift I was called into the floor managers office. They did not appreciate when I pulled my phone out to record our conversation. Long story short I was let go before my first shift and had to threaten legal action (because I’m just that petty) to get them to pay me for the time I was there ‘employed’.

Mangers don’t like when you have even an inkling of your rights and a union enforces those rights for workers.
