i think part of the problem w media criticism on here is sometimes people have a hard time understanding that not every story is a 1:1 with how you should go about criticism. like, an evil queen getting redeemed in a princess movie for toddlers would be very different from a dictator getting redeemed in a dystopian novel. those things do not require the same amount of engagement about the implications of such an action, and they mean different things for the story. and there are certainly things in between too, this isnt a “one extreme or the other” situation
